“Those who cling to yesterday’s models risk being outpaced or sidelined, while those who innovate will define what ‘nursing’ means in the decades to come.”

My Journey

I didn’t always know this path existed.
But I always knew I wanted more than just clocking in and charting fast.

When I started in bedside nursing, I was driven by purpose, but also pulled by a quiet voice asking, Is this it? That voice grew louder as I worked my way through roles in oncology, clinical research, inpatient, outpatient, travel nursing, manager positions at top hospitals, primary care as an NP, research, and eventually leadership and entrepreneurship.

Each chapter brought new questions, new stakes, and a growing belief: nurses are capable of far more than the system typically allows.

Today, I’m the Chief Nursing Executive at Prenuvo and the co-founder of ShadowNurse. I’ve pitched investors, built programs from the ground up, hired in-person and remote nursing teams, launched national initiatives, and sat at plenty of tables where nurses are rarely invited.

But what I’m most proud of? Helping other nurses realize they can do it too, with support, strategy, and a little bit of audacity.

Whether your path leads away from the bedside or deeper into it, this work is honorable. Staying in clinical care takes courage. So does choosing something new. Both require clarity, self-trust, and a vision for what’s possible.

That’s why I started Black Coffee Theory. And it’s why I coach and aspire to mentor as many nurses as I can.
Navigating this space between what you trained for and what you’re really called to do is hard. But it’s also powerful. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you’re in between burnout and breakthrough, you’re on the edge of what’s next! Let’s find it together!
